RS232/485 (Modbus RTU) Low-Frequency Animal Ear Tag Reader for Pigs, Cattle, and Sheep – L8600 Series.

The L8600 Series is an electronic ear tag reader based on RFID technology, also known as an electronic ear tag reader or electronic ear tag card reader. It integrates the controller, amplifier, and antenna into one unit, offering stability and durability.

Operating at 134.2 kHz and 125 kHz, it complies with the ISO 11784/85 international standard and supports reading FDX-B and EMID protocol electronic tags, ensuring strong compatibility. The reader integrates the RF communication protocol internally and can connect to PCs, PLCs, or microcontrollers. Users can receive ear tag data directly via the RS232/RS485 communication interface without dealing with complex communication protocols. For users requiring custom communication or networked applications, standard MODBUS TCP Ethernet and MODBUS RTU bus protocols are available as options.

Equipped with an Auto-tuning circuit, a key feature of this series is its automatic tuning function upon power restoration. Under varying environmental conditions, the auto-tuning ensures easy installation, optimal performance, and no degradation in read range over long-term use.

With surge protection, over-voltage self-cutoff protection, and an IP67 rating for dust, water, and shock resistance, the reader is rugged and reliable, capable of stable operation even in harsh environments. It maintains stable performance without interference when multiple readers are used nearby, offering high reception sensitivity, stable performance, and strong reliability.
